Hey cottagers! How ya doing? I had a nice email tonight from Colleen, a fellow cottager, who wanted to pass on her secret to keeping mice out of her cottage. Here is what she advised:
"Yes, with the cottage came mice. I scrubbed, vacuumed etc. Next weekend, more mice yuk. This time after the cleaning I put out "BOUNCE DRYER SHEETS", pieces in drawers, shelves, door ways etc. NO EVIDENCE OF MICE WHAT SO EVER, EVEN IN MY HUSBANDS WORK SHOP.Give it a try. Colleen ....."
Thank you Colleen, that sounds like a great idea, and I've no doubt it will work. It's great actually, those bounce sheets do leave things smelling nice and fresh as well, might be better than mothballs as far as the smell is concerned and it sounds like they are effective at keeping mice out as well.
Colleen also had a problem with her piston water pump. I have offered some suggestions, hopefully helpful. I'll let you know how they turn out. As cottagers, we've all experienced the frustration of "trying to get the water on" so I know our hearts all go out to Colleen.
If you have a cottage suggestion or question, feel free to email me at boatmanswife@hotmail.com
I'll do my best to respond.
