From time to time, although not recently, I used to escape to the cottage with a couple of my buddies, we'd call it a 'guys weekend' which basically meant no women allowed, just the men. A weekend of camaraderie, perhaps some hunting or fishing, boating, depending on the time of year. Of course the meals were all artery clogging, but we kept the old bloodflow going smoothly with copious amounts of alchohol....well not really, but you know....
These were fun weekends, lots of laughs, quite often we got some work done too, like building a new wharf or painting the deck etc. I miss those days, which for one reason or another, seem to have drifted away, something life does to us all. You get busy with other friends, family, work, hobbies you name it, it just gets away from us all if we don't conciously try to keep it going. It's the same as my annual weekend at the cottage with my daughters, if we aren't careful, that too will end, something I don't want to see happen.
So that is why I wanted to point you to a fellow blogger, Lannette, who has a wonderful recent post about a girls weekend at the cabin on her Cottage Elements blog. Lannette and her three sisters spent a nice weekend together in a fabulous log cabin, I just loved the interior pictures of the cabin. I think we all love to see interior pictures of cottages, for one thing, it's purely voyeuristic,(not that way) but it's interesting seeing inside other's lives a bit, and for another we get all kinds of decorating ideas for our own cottages and camps. Check out the girls weekend, Here!!
A Boy And His Dog,...

What is better than a boy and his dog? ... Two boys and two dogs! Today my
son and daughter-in-law took their boys to the local SPCA to adopt puppies.
