I think that all hunter should hunt like you! ANd you look pretty spiffy in your hunting gear.

THere is at least one company that sells antlers as dog treats/chews. Apparently they last forever and don't splinter. I really want to get some for my dogs. You'd think I'd find some fallen antlers around, as we are infested with deer, but no such luck.

I used to hunt...when I needed to put food on the table...but most of my hunting was done as your story described. For me the pleasure was in the tracking , the hike through the woods..I inevitably ended up at the top of the mountain. My husband and his friend said I made a great "dog". I kept the deer moving. I don't like tree stand or drives...unless your family is starving..Loved the story..took me back to the good ole days.

My father would have loved this post,.. he was a hunter and had many a trip out into the woods that ended like this. But there were successful times, too, and i'm sure you will get your buck!
